From December 13 to 16, 2018, we were 200 people, coming from different regions of Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia, to meet during the first Agora of the Inhabitants of the Earth in Sezano, an Italian village. close to Verona.
Convinced that nothing justifies inequality in the right to life and that as human beings we are collectively responsible for living well together on Earth, we have thus embarked on the path of concluding a ” pact of Humanity ”which will outlaw the deliberate production of poverty and ecological devastation through the commodification of common goods, dehumanized finance and weapons of war.
Since then, our movement has carried out numerous actions: organization of global campaigns, writing and publication of carte blanche, open letters and petitions, realization and dissemination of committed artistic contributions, development of permanent education projects and mobilization gatherings, elaboration of a project of a World Identity Card “Inhabitant of the Earth”, creation of a website…
After two years of particularly rich and encouraging activities and experiences, we believe that our association is based on sufficient and solid foundations to formally institutionalize our project. On January 25, 2021, our movement gave itself a management tool: the association “Agora des Habitants de la Terre”, a non-profit association under Belgian law under the chairmanship of Riccardo PETRELLA.
